About Us

🌶️ Storacha is a newly minted spin-out from Protocol Labs Venture Studios. Our team comprises members from several high-profile projects at Protocol Labs, coming together to build a new, better web3-native hot storage network on top of Filecoin. Our team leverages technologies and insights from building web3.storage and Filecoin Saturn, which many of our leaders were a part of. We aim to establish a "fast data" layer for the Filecoin ecosystem, providing crucial infrastructure for the decentralized web. Our protocols and systems focus on maximizing utility, resilience, and network value for all participants.

We build openly, as part of the larger movements around Filecoin and the broader web3 ecosystem. We do not start from scratch, as our system is production-ready and proven at scale, having served over 200k customers with PBs of data.

We're on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer who is deeply passionate about web3 and its potential to reshape technology. This role is perfect for those who thrive in early-stage startups, where ambiguity and rapid change are par for the course. We’re looking for someone who’s ready and able to come in and work on novel protocols, data structures, cryptographic proofs, and cryptoeconomics. While we’re excited about candidates with deep experience in these areas, what’s most critical is curiosity and passion to learn and advance this booming industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new product features that continually raise the bar on reliability, security and efficiency
• Contribute to the design of the network, incentives, proofs, API, protocols, etc.
• Build and manage complex, globally distributed decentralized networks, with a production-operations mindset
• Own significant problem areas and effectively land complex features working in partnership with Product Management, Developer Relations, and other such partners
• Collaborate with other teams in the web3 space to advance common protocols and build value-add integrations
• Be someone who’s great to work with: reliable, supportive, giving, and open; help us build a fantastic work environment

You're a great fit if you have…

• A passion for web3 and a belief in the transformative power of decentralized technology.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience in any of: distributed systems, API design, cryptography, blockchains, smart contract programming, JS, Rust, Solidity, or Go

• A proven track record of thriving in environments filled with ambiguity and rapid change
• Excellent communication skills
